Hoy, 12 de octubre, día de Cristobal Colón, de las razas o de whatever lo que sea, no es tan importante para el panameño, como que HOY Panamá se juega su pase oficial a la hexagonal. woohoo! Hoy  a las 9pm la ciudad de va a paralizar y todo mundo va a estar en el estadio, cinta costera, bares, casas viendo este importante juego contra honduras, en el cual, honestamente, esperamos ganarle por mucho. Obvio, Honduras es un país que ha ido al mundial, no hizo NADA mientras fue, pero puede decir que ha ido y esta pelea, tenaz, en realidad, comenzó gracias a ellos, que se han olvidado de ser humildes y han tirado, por decirlo así «fliex» contra los panameños. Así que sin más les presento mis uñas de la «sele» y esta noche, apoyaremos la marea roja con todo!

Today, October 12th, is Christopher Colombus day, the day of the races or whatever your country is celebrating is not important for the panamanian, because TODAY Panama will play to grant his ticket to next phase for the World Cup. YAY! So today, at 9pm the entire city will stop and everyone will be on the stadium, cinta costera, bars or houses watching this important game against Honduras, in which, honestly, we hope to kick their butts. Obviously Honduras has been on the world cup, even though they did nothing, but at least they went right, so this absurd fight started, thanks to them, because they forgot to be humble and they’ve been criticizing us, heavily. So, without further ado, my nails, and tonight Panama, la marea roja está contigo!

Usé \ I used:

• LASplash Base Coat
• Masglo Tiza (Chalk)
• China Glaze First Mate
• Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Cherry Red
• Essie matte about you

Primero apliqué la capa base de LASplash, seguido de 1 2 capas blancas de Masglo Tiza en 3 dedos. Luego, me pinte mi uña del medio con 1 capa gruesa de ChG First Mate y en mi uña del dedo gordo 2 capas de SH Cherry Red (que he mencionado anteriormente que es uno de mis esmaltes favoritos, a pesar que no me gustan muchos los esmaltes rojos). Luego, utilizando mi dotting tool, me inspiré haciendo puntitos rojos y azules en 2 uñas y finalmente, en el accent nail, utilizando el dotting tool (porque aún no soy muy diestra con los pinceles) hice la bandera panameña.

First, I applied my base coat, LASplash, followed by 2 coats of Masglo Tiza (Chalk) on 3 nails. Then, I applied one thick coat of ChG First Mate on my middle finger and on my thumbnail 2 coats of SH Cherry Red (which I had mentioned is one of my favorite polishes, even though I’m not into red polish). Then, using my dotting tool, I got inspired dotting 2 nails with red and blue polka dots, and finally, on the accent nail using the dotting tool (because IDK how to use the thin brush yet) I made the panamanian flag.

Ahora, anoche, después de esperar 1 hora a que se secara el manicure, hice la capa matte en una uña y se corrió TODA la pintura roja, así que, me quité la pintura, volví a trabajar la uña y me fui a dormir, sin aplicar top coat ni nada, y esta mañana, NUEVE horas después fui a ponerme mi top coat, que no sé si he mencionado, pero estoy en una etapa matte, Essie Matte About you y.. SE CORRIÓ todo el esmalte.. Ahgrr! Bueno, al final terminé de aplicarlo y ya lo dejé así.

Now, last night, when I did my manicure, I waited ONE hour until it was dry, and I try to use the top coat and it «melted» all the red polka dots became a huge mess, so I took that nail away and I went to sleep, without applying top coat (what a bad ass) and this morning, after NINE hours of slept, I tried to apply the top coat (IDK if I’ve mentioned it, but I’m in a matte phase) and it melted.. again. So, because I was in a hurry, like every morning, I had to let it be like that.

Shell

Una de mis amigas trabaja vendiendo productos de Shell, si ya sé, ¿Shell no cerró en Panamá? Solo las gasolineras fueron vendidas, aún hay ciertos productos como aceites y lubricantes que se siguen vendiendo a través de un distribuidor, que es con el cual mi amiga trabaja. Así que para una feria de construcción, mi amiga quería un manicure que fuera con su personalidad, pero yo más bien decidí inspirarme.

So, one of my friends works selling Shell productos, yes, I know.. Didn’t Shell closed operations on Panama? Only the gas stations were sold, but there are still some products being sold here through a distributor, for whom my friend works for. So, for a construction fair that is going on, she asked me for cool nails, so I was a bit inspired that night.

Disculpen los bordes de las uñas, no sé que me pasó.. pero lo arreglé después.

Para este manicuré usé \ for this manicure I used:

• LASplash Base Coat
• Sally Hansen InstaDri Lightening
• Sally Hansen Xtreme WearCherry Red
• Darosa Blanco
• Sally Hansen Double Duty

Primero, apliqué mi capa religiosa de base, seguida de 1 capa gruesa de Cherry Red, que me encanta, y en la uña del diseño, 2 capas de Darosa White. Una vez se secó, con un palillo de dientes, procedí a diseñar la forma de la concha con Lightening, espere unos segundos a que secara y con otro palillo diseñé la forma de la concha. Sellé finalmente con una capa de Sally Hansen Double Duty.

First, I applied my religious base coat, followed by a thick coat of Cherry Red, which I love, and on the design nail, 2 coats of Darosa White. Once it was dry, using a toothpick, I designed the shell logo using Lightening, waited a few minutes and using another toothpick I designed the red lines of the shell. I finally applied one coat of Sally Hansen Double Duty.

Para ser honesta, pienso que parecen unas papas fritas de McDonald’s, pero bueno, no es fácil diseñar en un canvas tan chico, así que imagino que solo la práctica me hará perfeccionar. A ustedes les gustó? Qué hubieran hecho en un manicure inspirado por Shell?

TBH, I think the shells looks like McDonald’s french fries, but again, it isn’t easy to design something in such a small canvas, so I imagine I will be getting better with the practice. Did you like it? What would you do on a Shell inspired manicure?

 

Para mi suegra \ For my mother-in-law

Desde que nos habíamos mudado, mis suegros no habían podido venir a conocer el apartamento, así que después de 2 meses pudieron venir a pasar la noche, para los que no saben, mis suegros viven en otra ciudad. Está solo a 1 hora de distancia, pero ellos no tienen carro y el sistema de transporte de este país tampoco se caracteriza por ser el mejor. Así que obvio, mi suegra tenía que pasar por el proceso que pasan todas las mujeres que pisan esta casa y es el manicure casero, bueno, pintura de uñas.

Since we moved to our new place, my in-laws hadn’t come to visit, so after  2 months, they finally made it and they spent the night here, for those who don’t know, they live in another city, which is only 1 hour away, but they don’t have car (well they do, but my father in-law is the only one with a license and he can’t see well sooo) and the public transportation system in this country sucks. So, obviously, my mother in-law had to go through the process of every woman that comes to my house and it’s my manicure.

Para este manicure usé \ I used:

• Shaki Hardening
• Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Chery Red
• BundleMonster plate BM311
• Darosa top coat

Primero, la religiosa capa base, esta vez de Shaki, luego apliqué 2 capas de Cherry Red. AMO este esmalte, no sé si lo había comentado anteriormente, pero es una de las mejores cosas que le puede pasar a una uña. Los esmaltes Xtreme Wear son super chéveres de aplicar, son un sueño y los amo. Luego apliqué el diseño de la placa y esperé a que secara y apliqué una capa de Darosa.

First, always a base coat, this time I used Shaki, then I applied 2 coats of Cherry Red. I LOVE this polish so much, I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it before, but this polish is the best thing that can happen to a nail. Xtreme Wear is so easy to apply, it’s like a dream come true and I love the 3 I have. Then I applied the design of the plate, waited until it dried and applied a coat of Darosa.

Como yo no podía quedarme sin hacerme un manicure, traté con un viejo amigo e hice un Jelly Sandwich, que solo tuvo un par de problemas, cortesía de Bella, La Cocker.

I couldn’t finish the night without doing myself a mani, so I tried with an old friend and I «Jelly-Sandwiched» my nails, I had some issues, thanks to Bella, La Cocker (my dog).

Para este manicure usé \ I used

• Shaki Hardening
• Masglo Tierna (it means cute)
• LASplash Sparkling Fushia
• Darosa Top Coat

Primero, mi capa de endurecedor, luego apliqué 1 capa delgada de Tierna en todas las uñas (así aunque quedara transparente y se viera el fondo, no importa), luego una capa de Sparkling Fushia, luego otra capa delgada de Tierna, otra capa de sparkling fushia y finalmente una capa delgada de Tierna. Sellé con una capa de Darosa Top Coat.

First, my base coat of Shaki Hardening, then 1 coat of Tierna in every nail (it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t give full coverage, it needs to be like that), then one coat of Sparkling Fushia, then another coat of Tierna, another coat of Sparkling Fushia and finally, another thin coat of Tierna plus a top coat using Darosa.

Este es mi tercer intento y el mejor. No solo le agarré mejor el truco, sino que además, el esmalte de LASplash es perfecto para el JellySandwich, el escarchado es super concentrado y delgado, así que facilita mucho su utilización. Lo hice súper rápido y quedé satisfecha, a pesar que Bella me arruinó unas uñas que pude «emparapetar».

This is my first attempt to get this manicure done, and the best so far. Not only I got it, but the LASplash polish is perfect for this technique, the glitter is concentrated enough and the polish is thin, so working with it is easy. I did it fast and I was happy about it, even though Bella ruined some nails that sort of fixed.

Ustedes que piensan del manicure de mi suegra? Hice algo sencillo, porque es su primera vez, además que sus uñas estaban largas y el stamp no cubría todo. Les gustó el Jelly Sandwich? Que color usarían ustedes?
