Lion’s Wedding!

Una amiga se casaba y el vestido a utilizar era un gris platino metálico, así que lo mejor que se me ocurrió fue pintarme las uñas con algún color que combinara el vestido (sí, es de la misma despedida del 5 de mayo). Así que pinté mis uñas con un color negro y utilicé un top coat de OPI en combinación con Sephora que me trajo una amiga de de un trip a Las Vegas.

A friend of mine was getting married, and the dress I chose was a dark silver, so I decided to match my nails (again) with the dress, so I painted my nails black and used one top coat a friend brought from Las Vegas.

Con esta pintura me pasó algo, primero me hice los pies, una capa de SH, una capa del esmalte negro y luego me puse el top coat de sephora y para sellar, la capa de SH double duty. LAS MANOS, fue un lío, en vez de hacer una capa de esmalte negro (night flight) hice 2 capas y como la boda era viernes por la noche, por la tarde del viernes se había caído todo el esmalte. Así que tuve que rehacerlas con una sola capa de esmalte negro y quedaron así.

With this specific manicure something happened. First I did my finger toes (one coat of SH double duty, one coat of Night Flight, one coat of Sephora by OPI and one coat of SH Double Duty), the toes looked OK for one week, but when I did my finger nails, instead of using one coat of night flight I used two and by the end of the Friday afternoon, all the lacquer was gone (literally GONE), so I had to do it again one hour before the wedding using only one coat and they lasted almost 4 days like that.

Papaya French!

Una vez comencé a ver que esto se estaba poniendo serio, decidí rebuscar toda la case a ver que encontraba de esmaltes. Encontré entonces una bolsita de cuando viví en Italia (hace 3 años jaja) que tenia 5 esmaltes de Sephora (casi lloré de emoción, pensé que se habían perdido en la mudanza). Algunos de ellos aún podían utilizarse (puse unas gotas de acetona, lo mezcle y listo!), así que para re-estrenar mis esmaltes de Sephora, decidí hacer un papaya french manicure.

Once I started to notice that this nail thing was getting serious, I decided to do a deep search looking forward to find stuff to improve my nail art performance, so I found a small bag that contained 5 little Sephora nail lacquers (almost cried of happiness, I thought I lost that bag when moving bag from Italy 3 years ago). You might think that, why in heck was this girl so happy about this old lacquers, but for my  joy, I could rescued almost all of them (a minute of silence for the purple one and pink). I just put some drops of polish remover and voila, it was ready to be used again. So, to re-use them I decided to do this papaya french.

Usé \ I used:

• Sephora «Passion»
• Vogue Yellow «precission brush»
• Sally Hansen Double Duty

 

Primero, me puse la base de Sally Hansen, luego pinté 2 capas del esmalte de sephora (ahora, cuando uno trata de arreglar estos esmaltes, por lo general queda muy grueso, así que hay que aplicarlo con paciencia y con la menor cantidad de esmalte posible en la brocha), una vez se secó, entonces le pasé el esmalte amarillo para que quedara como un french manicure. Una vez se secó, entonces le pasé una capa del double duty para sellar.

First I used, as always, the SH coat. Then I painted two coats of the sephora polish (take into consideration that most of the times, or at least in my experience, when you «fix» a nail lacquer the way I did, it becomes very thick, but usable, so you have to be patient and try to use the less amount possible in the brush), once it dried I used the yellow polish to paint my nail tips, wait until the whole thing was dry and used one last coat of SH Double Duty.

Arreglando lo que se daña

El 5 de mayo tuve una despedida de soltera, el vestido que llevé era turquesa, así que me pinté las uñas de un turquesa que iba perfecto con lo que tenía puesto, pero como las despedidas a veces tienen momentos locos, cuando llegué a la casa, me di cuenta que todas las puntas de las uñas se habían dañado, así que decidí utilizar tape para arreglarlas, miren como quedaron! / On may 5th, I had a bachelorette party, I was wearing a turquoise dress, so I painted my nails with a color that matched the dress. Well, as you might know, sometimes this parties can go crazy so the next morning when I woke up, I noticed that all the nail tips were gone, so I decided to recycle the color fixing the tips with tape and black nail polish / Il 5 di maio, ho avuto una bachelorette, ho vestito un abito turchese e ho deciso di fare le mie unghie similare e come sapete ogni tanto queste feste si tornano pazzi, la mattina dopo ho visto che le unghie adesso erano brutte, comunque ho deciso di ri-facerla.
