Hola a todos!
Me imagino que se preguntan, ¿por qué el nombre de esta entrada?, fácil. Tengo un resfriado súper fuerte. Y tratar de hacerse las uñas resfriada, no es una buena idea, el pulso me temblaba y tosía a cada segundo sobre las pobres uñas a medio hacer. Por eso tampoco escribiré tanto.

I guess you’re wondering about the title of this post (Sick person nails), that’s an easy one, I’m going through an awful flu episode, and trying to do your nails when you’re sick, well wasn’t a good idea, my hand was shaking (a lot) and I was coughing all over the poor half done nails. That’s why I’m keeping the post short too.
The polishes I used for this manicure were:

Purple Stamped Gradients

Hola a todos! Cómo ven, estoy tratando de actualizar más a menudo el blog y espero continuar así por un tiempo :). Hoy quería compartirles unas uñas estampadas que hice ayer por la tarde, yo usé una placa de bundlemonster, pero creo que utilizando tape pueden lograr resultados similares ;). Sin más, les muestro mis uñas.

Hello everyone! As you see, I’ve trying to update my blog more often and I hope to continue like this for a while :). Today I wanted to share with you the nails I did yesterday, using a bundlemonster plate, but I think you can use tape to obtain similar results ;). So, without further ado, my nails.

Cómo lograr estas uñas / How to get these nails?

1. Aplicar una capa base, como siempre. / Apply a base coat, ALWAYS.

2. Utilizando una esponja, aplicar un color rosado, en este caso yo utilicé KIKO 282, que es un rosado tipo Barbie, luego apliqué un morado claro, en este caso Sinful Colors Dream On y terminé con un morado más oscuro, en este caso uno de Darosa, los cuales no tienen ningún tipo de identificación, quiero aclarar que en este caso, no utilicé ningún tipo de base para el sponging, sino que lo apliqué directo sobre la base transparente. / Using a make up sponge, apply a pink color, in this case I used KIKO 282, which is a Barbie pink, then apply a neon-like purple, in this case Sinful Colors Dream On and finish using a darker purple, I used a Darosa one, but Darosa is a VERY cheap color and they don’t use numbers or name to identify them. In this specific manicure, I didn’t use a base color, I worked directly over the nude nail.

3. Utilizando OPI Apline Snow apliqué este diseño tipo rayos de sol, de la placa BM301 de BundleMonster. / Using OPI Alpine Snow apply the sunlight design on BundleMonster plate BM301.

4. Esperé a que secara y apliqué 2 capas de Sally Hansen Super Shine top coat, con el cual me ha ido SUPER bien! / I waited until it was dry, and I applied 2 coats of Sally Hansen Super Shine top coat, which has been a WIN!

5. En caso que no tengas las placas, la manera más sencilla de hacerlo sería de la siguiente manera: Aplicas una base blanca, trata que sea máximo 2 capas de blanco, sino, queda muy grueso. Espera UNA hora a que seque bien, puedes ponerle un base coat o un top coat apenas termines, solo para proteger, pero Hay que esperar a que seque bien. Luego, utilizando tape super delgado (recomiendo tiritas del tape azul de pintar o masking tape), haz los rayos y luego utilizando una esponja de maquillaje, aplica el gradiente. El truco con el tape, es que apenas apliques el gradiente, tienes que sacarle las tiritas de tape, o sea, tienes que trabajar rápido porque si dejas el tape puesto mucho tiempo, entonces arrancas el esmalte (hay gente que tiene esta técnica perfeccionada, yo no, por eso demoro muchísimo trabajando con tape!), luego aplicar las capas necesarias de top coat y LISTO! / In case you don’t have the BM plates, there’s a easy way to do this manicure: After the base coat, apply one or 2 coats of a white polish. Wait ONE full hour until it is dry, you can apply a top coat if you like, to protect the white, but before applying the tape, it must be more than dry, then using painters’ or masking tape cut in thin stripes, apply it following the sunlights pattern and apply the colors using the make up sponge. The thing is that you need to work fast and remove the tape immediately, other way, or at least in my own experience, you can rip the white base when taking it off, I know there’s people that has mastered the taping technique, I’m not one of those LOL. Once you’ve done with all your nails, proceed to apply your top coat and you’re ready to go!

El lado positivo de.. / The bright side.

Hola a todos! Lo he mencionado anteriormente, trabajo en una agencia publicitaria y la verdad es que los últimos meses han sido un poco exigentes con la cantidad de trabajo que he ido adquiriendo, el lado positivo de esto es que mi departamento está creciendo y esto me alegra, pero el lado positivo del que quiero hablarles hoy es que puedo hacer cualquier tipo de cosa en mis uñas y no habrá nunca un problema, seriamente, estoy planteándome hacerme un piercing en la nariz, pero no estoy segura aún ya que soy bastante floja y si el tatuaje en la espalda me hizo llorar, no sé cómo será el sufrimiento de la nariz. Bueno dejando el laca laca a un lado, estas uñas me las hice el mismo día que el manicure de paisley que le hice a Paola, pero quiero compartirlo ahora. Ese día no tenía idea que me iba a hacer, quería utilizar el esmalte de Konad que Paola me regaló, así que me hice una uña de cada color y esto fue lo que quedó!

I’ve mentioned before, I work on an advertising agency and the truth is that these last few months have been a little bit rough (a lot of workload), but on the bright side, my department is growing fast and it makes me happy, but the bright side I was thinking when writing this title was that I can do pretty much whatever I want on my nails and no one will complain, I am even thinking on doing a nose piercing, but I’m pretty weak and if the tattoo I got on my back made me cry, IDK if I could handle all the pain in the nose. Well, leaving all this mumbling behind, I want t show you the manicure I did on my nails the day I did Paola’s paisley. I didn’t know what I was going to get done on my nails, except for the fact I wanted to use the Konad Polish Paola gave me, so I did a different design on each nail and this is how it looks like!

 

Cómo lograr estas uñas (PASO A PASO) / How to get these nails done? (STEP BY STEP)

1. Aplicar la capa base en todas las uñas, como siempre. / Apply your base coat in every nail, as always!

2. Aplicar 2 capas de Milani HD 510 en la uña del dedo meñique / Apply 2 coats of Milani HD 510 on your pinkie nail.

3. Aplicar 1 capa gruesa de OPI Alpine Snow en el dedo del anillo, esperar a que seque y utilizando la placa de BundleMonster BM311 y el esmalte especial de Konad Rojo, aplicar el diseño de los corazones. / Apply one thick coat of OPI Alpine Snow on your ring finger nail, wait until it is fully dry and using the Red Special Konad polish, apply the design on the BundleMonster plate BM311.

4. En el dedo del corazón, aplica una capa de Sally Hansen Insta Dri Ligthening, espera a que seque y aplica una línea francesa completamente free hand utilizando Finger Paints Warhol Wannabe, espera nuevamente a que seque y aplica una capa delgada de China Glaze Sun Worshiper / On the middle finger nail, apply one thin coat of Sally Hansen Insta Dri Lightening, wait until it is dry and apply a french tip free handed, using Finger Paints Warhol Wannabe, again, wait until it is dry and apply one coat of China Glaze Sun Worshiper.

5. En el dedo índice aplica 2 capas de China Glaze For Audrey / On your index finger, apply 2 coats of China Glaze For Audrey

6. En tu dedo gordo, utilizando China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy de base y Sinful Colors Dream On y Sally Hansen Insta Dri Lightening, haz el diseño fishtail que compartí anteriormente. / On your thumb nail, using China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy as a base and Sinful Colors Dream on and Sally Hansen Insta Dri Lightening, do the fish tail design I did before.

7. Aplica tu brillo favorito / Apply your favorite top coat.

Todas estas uñas son diferentes y me gustó como quedó, ninguna tiene que ver con la otra, hace un par de años, creo que jamás me hubiera atrevido a utilizar algo así, pero me he liberado y estoy contenta con los resultados. Qué es lo más loco que te has hecho en las uñas?

All these nails are different and I love how it looks, they don’t have nothing related to each other. I think it is funny how I wouldn’t do this few years ago, but I set myself free and I am happy with the results! What is the craziest thing you’ve done in your nails?

Estas son las uñas de mi mamá, para hacerlas, solo deben pintar las uñas con una capa de OPI Alpine Snow y luego con un pincel de nail art hacer líneas rojas (Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Cherry Red) intercaladas con lineas verdes (Vogue Esmeralda) / These are my mom nails, to get these done you’ll need to apply one thick coat of OPI Alpine Snow and using a nail art stripping brush, do some red lines (SH Cherry Red) and green lines (Vogue Esmeralda)..!

Estas son las uñas de Marisabel, las de caramelo pueden ver el tutorial en mi entrada anterior y para la uña restante, 2 capas de Milani 510 HD y con un pincel delgado hacer las lucecitas / These are Marisabel’s nails. The candy cane tutorial was shared on my previous entry  and for the accent nail just apply 2 coats of Milani 510 HD and with a nail art stripping brush I did the lights

Para hacerse estas uñas sigan los siguientes pasos / To get these nails done, follow these steps:

1. Apliquen su capa base, como siempre. / Apply a base coat.

2. Aplicar 1 capa guresa de Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Cherry Red. / Apply one thick coat of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Cherry Red.

3. En el accent nail aplicar 2 capas de Milani 510 HD. / En el accent nail aplicar una capa de Milani 510 HD.

5. Aplicar en todas las uñas, menos la diferente, una capa de Essie Pure Pearlfection / Apply on every nail, except the accent one, one coat of Essie Pure Pearlfection.

6. Utilizando OPI Alpine Snow y las placas BM311 y BM319, estampa todas las uñas rojas. / Using OPI Apline Snow and BundleMonster plates BM311 and BM319, stamp all your red nails.

7.Espera unos minutos y sella con una capa de tu top coat favorito. / Wait a few minutes until it is fully dried and seal it with you favorite top coat.

Hola a todos! Como la medio hater que soy, navidad es una fiesta que no disfruto mucho. Demasiados gastos, demasiado tráfico, demasiada comida.. lo único que me gusta es los regalos. De resto, me daría igual, pero bueno, el asunto es que me estoy esforzando en disfrutar un poco más la época y quisiera hacerme unas uñas conmemorativas. Hello everyone! I must come clean, I am a hater sometimes and Xmas is one of the holidays I don’t enjoy. You spend too much, there are too much traffic in the street, too much food.. I only enjoy the receiving presents part, I would enjoy not celebrating xmas, but this year I am making an effort in enjoying more this time and I did some nails xmas inspired. Neon Fishtail

Hola a todos! Hoy traté de hacer algo nuevo y distinto, pero me dio mucha pereza buscar más esmaltes así que reutilizando 3 colores que han visto mucho últimamente, decidí hacer un «fishtail». Estaba navegando en facebook y vi una foto de uno de mis blogs favoritos, Work / Play / Fun y un manicure que hizo un mes atrás, un Mocha Fishtail, el cual pueden ver haciendo clic aquí.

Today I tried to do something new and different, but again I was too lazy to pick up different colors from my polish box, so I’ve been using the same 3 colors over and over agin, so I did the fishtail using these colors. So the thing is that I was on Facebook this morning and a picture of one of my favorite blogs was on the timeline, Work / Play / Fun and it was a manicure she did more than a month ago, a Mocha Fishtail and you can look her manicure clicking here.

De mi favorito a lo más odiado

Uno de mis top coats favoritos, era, si ERA, Sally Hansen No Chip Acrylic Top Coat. Me encantaba porque era súper grueso y protegía el esmalte por varios días. Había escaseado por algún tiempo y con mucho esfuerzo logré conseguir otras botellas. Han sido un fail, cada manicure me dura UN día! Que desgracia, pero esto no es todo, apenas lo pongo, hace «huequitos» en el esmalte. Juzguen por uds mismos cómo se ve este manicure. Para el mismo, solamente apliqué una capa de China Glaze Kalahari Kiss y luego con una esponja apliqué Finger Paints Warhol Wannabe y China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy. Finalicé con el top coat, miren cómo quedó. Esta vez, estuvo MENOS de 24 horas en mis uñas, la uña se pelaba completa!

So, one of my favorite top coats was, indeed WAS, Sally Hansen No Chip Acrylic Top Coat. I loved it because it was super thick and it protected my polish for several days. It was missing for a while, but I found two bottles. This has been a fail, each manicure lasted less than a day, and this is not all, once I applied it start to create like this bubbles between the polish and the top coat. Judge by yourselves how this manicure looks, it lasted LESS than 24 hours. I applied one coat of China Glaze Kalahari Kiss and I sponged over it Finger Paints Warhol Wannabe and China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy. I finished my «art job» using this top coat and in less than 24 hrs, half of the nails were gone.

Hola a todos! Recuerdan mi resolución de octubre de hacer uñas sobre la prevención del cáncer de mama? Bueno, una de mis amigas se las hizo 2 veces y ahora que se iba a un viaje a la hermosa ciudad de Barcelona, me pidió que le hiciera un manicure creativo. Ahora, para entender ciertos manicures, tienen que saber que aquí todavía el nail art no ha llegado a su máxima expresión y la gente aún no se atreve a hacerse más de 4 cosas, así que fue un largo proceso convencer a Mariola para que se hiciera sus uñas de colores, a pesar que ella no se hizo todo lo que yo quería que se hiciera, después fui yo y me hice el manicure que quería para ella ;). Así que sin más, les dejo el manicure de Mariola seguido del mío.

Hello everyone! Do you remember that in October all I did was BCA manicures? Well, one of my friends got her nails done at least twice and now that she was going to Barcelona, she asked me for a creative manicure. Now, to understand some manicures, you’ll need to know that in Panama people aren’t into nail art yet and most of the girls I know wouldn’t dare to do more than a few things on her nails (an accent nails is too badass sometimes), so it took me a while to convince Mariola to let me do whatever I want, and even though I didn’t do all I have in mind, I ended up doing it on my nails, so without further ado I’ll show you Mariola’s nails followed by mine.

Cómo hacer estas uñas? / How to get these nails done?

1. Aplicar la capa base. SIEMPRE. / Apply your base coat. ALWAYS.

2. Pinta una capa delgada de cualquier esmalte blanco, en este caso usé Masglo Tiza. / Apply one thin coat of any white polish of your preference, in this case I used Masglo Tiza.

3. Aplica una capa gruesa de China Glaze For Audrey en el accent nail. / Apply one thick coat of China Glaze For Audrey in your accent nail.

4. Aplica una capa gruesa de Finger Paints Warhol Wannabe en todas las uñas restantes y espera a que seque bien. / Apply one thick coat of Finger Paints Warhol Wannabe in all the other nails and wait a while until the nails are completely dry.

5. Utilizando China Glaze Kalahari Kiss, haz una línea vertical tipo spanish french en todas las uñas rosadas, para que te quede mejor, puedes utilizar tape o puedes hacerla a pulso que fue mi caso. / Using China Glaze Kalahari Kiss, paint your nails like the spanish french type in every pink nails, feel free to use tape, I freehanded it.

6. Aplica una capa de brillo. / Apply one coat of top coat.

7. Espera un buen rato a que seque, quizás como media hora y utilizando la placa BM221 de BundleMonster y Finger Paints Sketchy Character, imprime el print de Cheetah en tus uñas. / Wait a while until is dry, like half an hour and using the BundleMonster plate BM221 and Finger Paints Sketchy Character, imprint the Cheetah print on your nails.

8. Aplica tu top coat favorito, en este caso Sally Hansen No Chip y listo!. / Apply your favorite top coat, in this case, SH No Chip and you’re ready to go.

Ahora, como les prometí, mis uñas.

Cómo hacer mis uñas? / How to get these nails done?

1. Aplicar la capa base. Siempre. / Apply your base coat, always.

2. Pinta una capa blanca delgada en todas las uñas, en mi caso Masglo Tiza, excepto en el clásico accent nail. / Paint a thin white coat in all your nails except the classic accent nail, in this case I used Masglo Tiza.

3. Aplica 1 capa gruesa de Finger Paints Warhol Wannabe en 3 uñas. / Apply one thick coat of Finger Paints Warhol Wannabe in 3 of your nails.

4. Aplica una capa gruesa de China Glaze For Audrey en la uña del dedo gordo. / Apply one thick coat of China Glaze For Audrey in your thumbnail.

5. En el accent nail, pinta una capa de China Glaze Kalahari Kiss, espera a que seque, aplica entonces dejando un tercio de Kalahari Kiss una capa de Finger Paints Sketchy Character, espera a que seque y aplica en el último tercio una capa de China Glaze Call of the Wild. / In the accent nail, apply one coat of China Glaze Kalahari Kiss, wait until it’s dry and apply in the 2/3 of your nail one coat of Finger Paint Sketchy Character, once it’s dry apply in the 3/3 of your nail one last coat of China Glaze Call of the Wild.

6. Aplica una capa de tu brillo favorito y listo / Apply your favorite top coat and you’re ready to go.

Hola a todos! Como he contado anteriormente, la mayoría de gente que viene de visita, le termino haciendo las uñas, así que cuando mis papás vinieron por un café el domingo, aproveché y le pinté las uñas a mi mamá.

Gnäbe Bugle

Hola a todos! Ayer me llegó un paquete súper especial, un pedido que hice con 8 esmaltes. Me sentía cual niño en navidad, me encantaron los colores que escogí.

Hello everyone! Yesterday I received a super special mail, 8 polishes I ordered online. I felt like a kid on Christmas, I loved every color I picked.

De izquierda arriba a derecha abajo / From left to right: For Audrey, Pink Voltage, Flip Flop Fantasy, Flirty tankini, Nova, Towel boy toy, Sun worshiper & Kalahari Kiss

 

Además, le di la oportunidad a Jorge (mi esposito) para que eligiera los colores y el diseño. Jorge es una persona súper «cuadriculada» con sus cosas, así que después de mucha investigación (en serio, le tomo como 20 minutos decidir algo) para encontrar alguna inspiración que no estuviera basada en uñas hechas por otras personas, habló y me dijo: Gnabe Bugle. Los Gnabe Bugle son indígenas panameños que utilizan vestidos largos y tienen unos triángulos, les muestro una tela de referencia seguida de mis uñas.

Besides, I gave Jorge (my husband) the opportunity to chose the colors and the design of my nails. Jorge is a very «squared» person with his stuff, so after a lot of research (seriously, it took him like 20 minutes to decide something) to find the right inspiration, that wasn’t based on other people’s nail designs, he spoke and said: Gnabe Bugle. So, just for information, Gnabe Bugle are one of the native of Panama and the women use these long and beautiful dresses that has triangles on it, so I’m showing you a reference followed by my nails.

Los vestidos son de colores vivos y los triángulos tienen un significado también, son las montañas donde ellos viven y cada uno de los colores que tengan puestos representan cosas de la naturaleza / The color of the dresses are pretty bright and the triangles mean the mountains where they live, also, the colors or the dresses have a meaning too and they’re related to the colors you’ll find in nature.

Cómo hacer estas uñas? / How to get these nails done:

1. Aplicar la capa base, siempre. / Apply a base coat, always.
2. Aplica 2 capas de ChG Flirty Tankini en todas las uñas, excepto una, que aplicas 2 capas de ChG Towel Boy Toy. / Apply 2 coats of ChG Flirty Tankini on each nail, except on the accent one, that you’ll need to apply 2 coats of Towel Boy Toy.
3. Completamente freehand (o utilizando tape, como prefieras) haz una linea horizontal que ocupe al menos media uña, utilizando ChG Flip Flop Fantasy. / Freehand or use tape, however you feel, make a horizontal line covering at least half of the nail using ChG Flip Flop Fantasy.
4. Utilizando un pincel de brocha delgado y ChG Sun Worshiper, pinta los triángulos en las uñas. / Using a stripping brush and ChG Sun Worshiper, do the small triangles on your nails.
5. Utilizando nuevamente el pincel de brocha delgada, ahora dibuja una línea horizontal para crear alguna división, utilizando ChG Towel Boy Toy / Using the stripping brush again, do a thin horizontal line to create the «division» between colors, using ChG Towel Boy Toy.
6. Aplicar tu top coat / Apply your top coat.
