ME vs Ikat!

Hola a todos! La fuente divina de inspiración para las uñas de muchos de nosotros, es pinterest, así que cuando quería hacerme un manicure cool, me fui a mis boards y escogí un diseño ikat que pueden ver haciendo clic aquí, es de uno de mis blogs favoritos, el problema es que solo puedo admirar sus diseños porque está en francés! Así que cansada como estaba, busqué un tutorial en inglés, el cual les compartiré al final de la entrada e hice mis uñas.

Hello everyone! One of the best inspiration places ever is pinterest, so, when I was bored and looking forward to have a funny manicure, I went to my nails board and picked up an Ikat design that you can see clicking here, it belongs to one of my favorite blogs, the problem, it is a french blog and I can’t understand half of the things she said. So, I was tired and didn’t want to think, so I googled a tutorial in english, and I’m going to share it at the end of this entry.

La verdad, es que ha sido una de las mejores cosas que he hecho, no puedo ni creer que realmente haya podido hacerlo y estoy super feliz con los resultados. Es muy fácil de hacer y les invito a los hagan y tómense una foto y me taggean en twitter \ instagram: @mariaemmafaria.

El lado positivo de.. / The bright side.

Hola a todos! Lo he mencionado anteriormente, trabajo en una agencia publicitaria y la verdad es que los últimos meses han sido un poco exigentes con la cantidad de trabajo que he ido adquiriendo, el lado positivo de esto es que mi departamento está creciendo y esto me alegra, pero el lado positivo del que quiero hablarles hoy es que puedo hacer cualquier tipo de cosa en mis uñas y no habrá nunca un problema, seriamente, estoy planteándome hacerme un piercing en la nariz, pero no estoy segura aún ya que soy bastante floja y si el tatuaje en la espalda me hizo llorar, no sé cómo será el sufrimiento de la nariz. Bueno dejando el laca laca a un lado, estas uñas me las hice el mismo día que el manicure de paisley que le hice a Paola, pero quiero compartirlo ahora. Ese día no tenía idea que me iba a hacer, quería utilizar el esmalte de Konad que Paola me regaló, así que me hice una uña de cada color y esto fue lo que quedó!

I’ve mentioned before, I work on an advertising agency and the truth is that these last few months have been a little bit rough (a lot of workload), but on the bright side, my department is growing fast and it makes me happy, but the bright side I was thinking when writing this title was that I can do pretty much whatever I want on my nails and no one will complain, I am even thinking on doing a nose piercing, but I’m pretty weak and if the tattoo I got on my back made me cry, IDK if I could handle all the pain in the nose. Well, leaving all this mumbling behind, I want t show you the manicure I did on my nails the day I did Paola’s paisley. I didn’t know what I was going to get done on my nails, except for the fact I wanted to use the Konad Polish Paola gave me, so I did a different design on each nail and this is how it looks like!

 

Cómo lograr estas uñas (PASO A PASO) / How to get these nails done? (STEP BY STEP)

1. Aplicar la capa base en todas las uñas, como siempre. / Apply your base coat in every nail, as always!

2. Aplicar 2 capas de Milani HD 510 en la uña del dedo meñique / Apply 2 coats of Milani HD 510 on your pinkie nail.

3. Aplicar 1 capa gruesa de OPI Alpine Snow en el dedo del anillo, esperar a que seque y utilizando la placa de BundleMonster BM311 y el esmalte especial de Konad Rojo, aplicar el diseño de los corazones. / Apply one thick coat of OPI Alpine Snow on your ring finger nail, wait until it is fully dry and using the Red Special Konad polish, apply the design on the BundleMonster plate BM311.

4. En el dedo del corazón, aplica una capa de Sally Hansen Insta Dri Ligthening, espera a que seque y aplica una línea francesa completamente free hand utilizando Finger Paints Warhol Wannabe, espera nuevamente a que seque y aplica una capa delgada de China Glaze Sun Worshiper / On the middle finger nail, apply one thin coat of Sally Hansen Insta Dri Lightening, wait until it is dry and apply a french tip free handed, using Finger Paints Warhol Wannabe, again, wait until it is dry and apply one coat of China Glaze Sun Worshiper.

5. En el dedo índice aplica 2 capas de China Glaze For Audrey / On your index finger, apply 2 coats of China Glaze For Audrey

6. En tu dedo gordo, utilizando China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy de base y Sinful Colors Dream On y Sally Hansen Insta Dri Lightening, haz el diseño fishtail que compartí anteriormente. / On your thumb nail, using China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy as a base and Sinful Colors Dream on and Sally Hansen Insta Dri Lightening, do the fish tail design I did before.

7. Aplica tu brillo favorito / Apply your favorite top coat.

Todas estas uñas son diferentes y me gustó como quedó, ninguna tiene que ver con la otra, hace un par de años, creo que jamás me hubiera atrevido a utilizar algo así, pero me he liberado y estoy contenta con los resultados. Qué es lo más loco que te has hecho en las uñas?

All these nails are different and I love how it looks, they don’t have nothing related to each other. I think it is funny how I wouldn’t do this few years ago, but I set myself free and I am happy with the results! What is the craziest thing you’ve done in your nails?

 

Paisley pattern

No les pasa que a veces pasamos por una etapa de moda que nosotros mismos no entendemos, bueno, me sucedió a una edad muy joven con el «paisley», TODO lo quería utilizar con este diseño, camisetas y hasta pañoletas quise utilizar, luego cuando crecí un poco pensé que era ridículo y hace un par de meses fue que pude reconciliarme nuevamente con este diseño. Estas uñas que les enseñaré hoy, se las hice a mi amiga Paola.

Hello everyone! Does it happen to you, that you go under a weird fashion stage that you can’t understand later? Well it happened to me with paisley patterns, all I wanted to wear was paisley, tshirts, clothing.. even Bandanas (I know right, WTF!!), but then I grow older and I woke up one day thinking it was a ridiculous pattern and stopped using it. A few months ago, I reconciled with this design. So these nails I’m showing you today are from my friend Paola.

Cómo hacer estas uñas? / How to get these nails done?

1. Aplicar la capa base / Apply your base coat.

2. Pintar una capa gruesa de China Glaze Kalahari Kiss y esperar a que seque bien / Apply one thick coat of China Glaze Kalahari Kiss and wait until it is dry.

3. En una esponja de maquillaje, aplica una raya con China Glaze For Audrey y otra rayita con China Glaze Kalahari Kiss y aplica sobre la uña que ya secó / On a make up sponge, apply one line of China Glaze For Audrey and another one of China Glaze Kalahari Kiss and apply on your previously dry nail.

4. Aplica una capa de tu base o brillo favorito. / Apply one coat of your favorite base or top coat.

5. Utilizando la placa de BundleMonster BM315 y un esmalte de Konad Rojo vino, procede a estamparte el paisley en todas las uñas / Using the BundleMonster plate BM315 and a Red Wine Konad polish, proceed to stamp all your nails.

6. En este caso, esperamos como 30 minutos y aplicamos brillo, porque con el primer intento, una de las uñas casi se daña / We waited like half an hour to apply our top coat, because on the first try, we almost «jeopardize» the nail.

Girls night in feat. Mariola

Hola a todos! Recuerdan mi resolución de octubre de hacer uñas sobre la prevención del cáncer de mama? Bueno, una de mis amigas se las hizo 2 veces y ahora que se iba a un viaje a la hermosa ciudad de Barcelona, me pidió que le hiciera un manicure creativo. Ahora, para entender ciertos manicures, tienen que saber que aquí todavía el nail art no ha llegado a su máxima expresión y la gente aún no se atreve a hacerse más de 4 cosas, así que fue un largo proceso convencer a Mariola para que se hiciera sus uñas de colores, a pesar que ella no se hizo todo lo que yo quería que se hiciera, después fui yo y me hice el manicure que quería para ella ;). Así que sin más, les dejo el manicure de Mariola seguido del mío.

Hello everyone! Do you remember that in October all I did was BCA manicures? Well, one of my friends got her nails done at least twice and now that she was going to Barcelona, she asked me for a creative manicure. Now, to understand some manicures, you’ll need to know that in Panama people aren’t into nail art yet and most of the girls I know wouldn’t dare to do more than a few things on her nails (an accent nails is too badass sometimes), so it took me a while to convince Mariola to let me do whatever I want, and even though I didn’t do all I have in mind, I ended up doing it on my nails, so without further ado I’ll show you Mariola’s nails followed by mine.

Cómo hacer estas uñas? / How to get these nails done?

1. Aplicar la capa base. SIEMPRE. / Apply your base coat. ALWAYS.

2. Pinta una capa delgada de cualquier esmalte blanco, en este caso usé Masglo Tiza. / Apply one thin coat of any white polish of your preference, in this case I used Masglo Tiza.

3. Aplica una capa gruesa de China Glaze For Audrey en el accent nail. / Apply one thick coat of China Glaze For Audrey in your accent nail.

4. Aplica una capa gruesa de Finger Paints Warhol Wannabe en todas las uñas restantes y espera a que seque bien. / Apply one thick coat of Finger Paints Warhol Wannabe in all the other nails and wait a while until the nails are completely dry.

5. Utilizando China Glaze Kalahari Kiss, haz una línea vertical tipo spanish french en todas las uñas rosadas, para que te quede mejor, puedes utilizar tape o puedes hacerla a pulso que fue mi caso. / Using China Glaze Kalahari Kiss, paint your nails like the spanish french type in every pink nails, feel free to use tape, I freehanded it.

6. Aplica una capa de brillo. / Apply one coat of top coat.

7. Espera un buen rato a que seque, quizás como media hora y utilizando la placa BM221 de BundleMonster y Finger Paints Sketchy Character, imprime el print de Cheetah en tus uñas. / Wait a while until is dry, like half an hour and using the BundleMonster plate BM221 and Finger Paints Sketchy Character, imprint the Cheetah print on your nails.

8. Aplica tu top coat favorito, en este caso Sally Hansen No Chip y listo!. / Apply your favorite top coat, in this case, SH No Chip and you’re ready to go.

Ahora, como les prometí, mis uñas.

Cómo hacer mis uñas? / How to get these nails done?

1. Aplicar la capa base. Siempre. / Apply your base coat, always.

2. Pinta una capa blanca delgada en todas las uñas, en mi caso Masglo Tiza, excepto en el clásico accent nail. / Paint a thin white coat in all your nails except the classic accent nail, in this case I used Masglo Tiza.

3. Aplica 1 capa gruesa de Finger Paints Warhol Wannabe en 3 uñas. / Apply one thick coat of Finger Paints Warhol Wannabe in 3 of your nails.

4. Aplica una capa gruesa de China Glaze For Audrey en la uña del dedo gordo. / Apply one thick coat of China Glaze For Audrey in your thumbnail.

5. En el accent nail, pinta una capa de China Glaze Kalahari Kiss, espera a que seque, aplica entonces dejando un tercio de Kalahari Kiss una capa de Finger Paints Sketchy Character, espera a que seque y aplica en el último tercio una capa de China Glaze Call of the Wild. / In the accent nail, apply one coat of China Glaze Kalahari Kiss, wait until it’s dry and apply in the 2/3 of your nail one coat of Finger Paint Sketchy Character, once it’s dry apply in the 3/3 of your nail one last coat of China Glaze Call of the Wild.

6. Aplica una capa de tu brillo favorito y listo / Apply your favorite top coat and you’re ready to go.
