Hola a todos! Uno de los manicures que quería hacer hace algún tiempo era el “spun sugar nails” y el otro día, vi en el fanpage de este blog el tutorial para lograrlo.

Hola a todos! Para comenzar este post, tengo que contarles un poco de, como decimos en Panamá, “historia patria” acerca de mi adicción a los esmaltes. Todo inició hace casi 6 años atrás, cuando me mudé fuera del país, donde no hablaba el idioma (al inicio) y todo era excesivamente caro. Comencé con cosas sencillas, un solo color y ya. Ya que para mi era MUY importante tener las uñas de colores. Con el tiempo, fui comprando uno que otro esmalte de colores distintos y me atrevía a pintarme así como un neón que muchos no entendían, pero la verdad es que lo hacía porque me relajaba muchísimo pintarme las uñas. Luego, me fui llenando de esmaltes de varios colores y siempre tenía las uñas coloridas, hasta que un día me atreví a cruzar la línea y me puse una uña de otro color. Cuando hice esto me sentí así (viene después del párrafo en inglés)
Hello everyone! I need to tell you some ancient history before showing you the manicure, because I need to explain you my well-known polish addiction. So, everything started like 6 years ago, when I moved abroad, everything was too expensive and I didn’t speak the language, so I started with normal stuff, you know, all nails in one color. The thing was that it was more than important to have my nails done. So, with the time, I started to buy different colors of polish and I can say that I used neon before they were even cool, people didn’t understand and in the end, I kept doing it because it was a relaxing thing to do. So, I kept buying more and more polish in different colors, and one day, after reading several blogs I crossed the line. I did ONE nail in other color (so Hardcore!) So, the following video will describe how I felt when I did it.
Estuve así por un tiempo, solamente entre uñas de colores, hasta que un día, debido al ocio, semana santa y muchas horas de pretty little liars donde tenían las mejores uñas del mundo y armada de pinterest, blogs e instagram, decidí hacer mi primer nail art.
So I kept like that, for a while, only with one nail different until ONE day, due several days off and a lot of Pretty Little Liars being watched and pinterest, blogs and instagram as my allied, I did my first nail art.

El tiempo ha pasado y desde que comencé a escribir en este blog, de alguna manera pude comenzar a escribir en el otro y una cosa llevó a la otra y terminé escribiendo en una revista de un periódico local, llamada Revista Mujer. Cómo se pueden imaginar, mi primer artículo fue de la cosa que más me gusta, así que se los comparto, pueden entrar haciendo clic aquí. Aprovecho y agradezco a Nicole y Cynthia, que tienen unos blogs espectaculares y me prestaron sus fotos para ser publicadas junto con mi artículo.
So it has been a while since I started my blog, and somehow this blog gave more inspiration to start writing my other blog and then one thing led to another, and I ended up writing for a magazine of a local newspaper, named Revista Mujer. So, as you can imagine, my first article was about the thing I like the most, so I would like to share it, and you can enter clicking here (it is only in spanish sorry). Entonces, volviendo al tema de que hago hoy escribiendo en el blog, es mostrarles las uñas que me hice. Buscando entre las fotos, encontré el manicure de Nicole que me gustó tanto, así que decidí copiarlo (jaja). Así que les adjunto las fotos de mi intento de manicure medio fallido.
So, I did some nails to show you in the blog, and it was inspired by Nicole’s nails and I just copied it. LOL. So this is how my attempt of her nails look like.

Para hacer estas uñas, sigan los siguientes pasos / How to get these nails done:
1. Aplicar la capa base / Apply your base coat, as always.
2. Pintar tus uñas con 1 capa de OPI Alpine Snow (a veces puede requerir 2) / Apply one thick coat of OPI Alpine Snow
3. Utilizando el esmalte Rojo de Konad y la placa BM322 procede a estampar todas las uñas. / Using a red polish (in this case Konad) and BundleMonster plate BM322 apply the houndstooth pattern in every nail.
4. Utilizando un dotting tool grueso, haz 2 puntos en la uña que quieras ponerle el corazón, uno al lado del otro y con un pincel delgado, haz el corazón utilizando el excedente de los puntos. (practica en un pedazo de papel aluminio antes) / Now, using a black polish and the biggest dotting tool, make 2 polka dots next to each other and using a striping brush, make the heart.
5. Espera a que esté seco y aplica brillo. Ahora, tengo el corazón partido con este manicure porque esperé casi 24 horas para aplicarle el brillo y aún así se corrió cuando lo hice. / Wait a while until your manicure is dry and apply top coat. Now, my heart is broken with this manicure, because I waited almost 24 hours to apply the top coat and when I did, the red polish got like damaged (i can’t find the word for it)

Normalmente me inspiro en pinterest para hacer mis uñas, pero cuando hice estas uñas, decidí buscar inspiración en algo más, así que mientras pensaba, me di cuenta que hoy tenía puesto uno de mis sweaters favorito. Así que pensando en esto, me hice un manicure similar al sweater que estoy vistiendo. Así que les muestro ambas cosas!
Normally, I got inspired pinteresting (is that even a verb these days?), but when I did these nails, I was looking forward to find inspiration elsewhere, so I was thinking and thinking and realized I was wearing one of my favorite t-shirts. So, I ended up doing a manicure inspired by my t-shirt.

No les pasa que todas las bolsas, logos, letreros de dulcerías trendy les parece que son rosados y chocolates? Bueno, mi madre me hizo unas deliciosas magdalenas, así que pensando en como podría ser la papelería e imagen de su hipotética dulcería si mi mamá por fin decidiera ponerse moderna y abrirla, pensé en el trillado chocolate con rosado. Así que inspirada en esa combinación, les comparto un manicure sencillo que le hice.
Don’t you think that all the bags, logos and stuff from fashionable and trendy bakeries are pink and brown? Well, my mum gave me this amazing and delicious cupcakes, so I was thinking in how her hypothetical cupcake show and I was thinking that everything was going to be brown and pink, well of course it would happen only if my mom would open this amazing place. So inspired by this color combo, this is what I did.
Cómo hacer estas uñas? / How to get these nails done.
1. Aplicar la capa base, como siempre. / Apply your base coat, as always.
2. Pintar 1 o 2 capas de tu rosado pálido favorito. / Apply 1 or 2 coats of your favorite pale pink polish.
3. Para hacer el “french” estilo chevron, utilizando tu chocolate favorito (en este caso, China Glaze Call of the Wild) de la mitad de la uña hacia abajo, pinta una línea diagonal, y luego del lado contrario, repite lo mismo. / To get the chevron tips, use your favorite brown polish (in this case, China Glaze Call of the Wild), do a diagonal line from the half of your nail to the tip, and then repeat in the opposite side.
4. Finalmente, aplica tu brillo y listo. / Finally, apply your favorite top coat and you’re ready.
Las puntas tipo chevron están muy de moda últimamente, es un manicure serio que puedes utilizar para trabajar, así que te invito a que lo hagas, le tomes una foto y la subas a twitter\instagram y me etiquetes: @mariaemmafaria.

Cómo conté un par de entradas atrás, la hermana de mi papá esta de visita del Brasil y bueno, ya después de un mes y medio tiene que regresarse . Así que obvio de despedida tenía que hacerle unas uñas! El asunto, es que mi mamá me trajo de regalo unas magdalenas deliciosas que hizo y creo que me inspiré un poco demasiado con sus uñas! . Así que sin más, les dejo las uñas de mi tía!
As I mentioned before, my dad’s sister was visiting us from Brazil, and, well, after a month and half here, she has to go back. So, obviously I did a farewell manicure. The thing is that my mum made me this amazing and delicious cupcakes and I guess I was a little too inspired with it and well, without further ado, my aunt’s nails.

Hola a todos! El verano trae muchas cosas con él, como mucho sol y calor (aunque aquí hace calor TODO el año!), hermosos colores y un ambiente de fiesta típico y único del verano. El clima es hermoso y hasta la gente está de mejor humor. Puro clima hermoso “caribeño”, así que aprovechando el hermoso clima <3, me hice unas uñas así como veraniegas, lo único es que no he podido tomarle fotos con la cámara y como ya me lo quité, solo tengo la versión de instagram!
Hello everyone! Summer brings a lot of stuff with it, like a lot of sun and warmth (even though the weather is SUPER hot all year in Panama), beautiful colors and environment of party! It is more like everyone is happy about a wonderful weather and they’re all in a good mood, caribbean style, so, seizing the beautiful son and inspired by valentine’s, I did a pink manicure that I didn’t take a good picture of it (sorry, just instagram, what a hipster right?)

Cómo hice estas uñas? / How did I get these nails done?
1. Aplicar una capa base, SIEMPRE. / Apply base coat, always.
2. Pintar la uña del dedo meñique e índice con 2 capas de tu esmalte neón rosado favorito, en este caso utilicé China Glaze Pink Voltage (dejando secar un poco entre cada capa), luego en la uña del dedo anular 2 capas de tu blanco favorito, en este caso Masglo Tiza y en la uña del dedo del corazón y pulgar 2 a 3 capas del esmalte holográfico de tu preferencia, aquí Milani 3d HD plateado. / Apply 2 coats of your favorite neon pink in your pinkie and index finger nail, in this case China Glaze Pink Voltage (waiting a while between coats), then in the fing nail finger apply 2 coats of a white polish, in this case Masglo Tiza and in your middle and thumbnail apply 2 o 3 coats of your favorite holographic polish, in this specific case Milani 3d HD.
3. Luego con un pincel para decorar, pintar líneas horizontales blancas en tu uña del dedo índice y rosadas en tu dedo anular. / Then using a stripping brush, do some horizontal white lines on your index finger and some pink lines on your ring finger nail.
4. Esperar un rato a que seque y aplicar tu brillo favorito. / Wait a while until it is dry, and then apply your favorite top coat.
Estas uñas son fáciles de hacer y lo único que necesitas es un poco de pulso, puedes hacerla también con tape, pero te recomiendo esperar una hora a que sequen las uñas para que queden bien!! Si las haces, por favor tómale una foto y me taggeas en twitter/ instagram: @mariaemmafaria.
These nails are easy to do, you just need a little pulse to do it, but you can tape it too, but I recommend to wait an hour before working with tape, so the polish could dry properly. If you do it, please take a picture of it and tag me on twitter/instagram: @mariaemmafaria
